Our adventure continues as we head south to Tierra del Fuego. We left Spokane on June 21, 2018 and will return in August of 2019. As always we hope not to bore you, but share our adventure and encourage other traveling dreams!

A bit about us…

Michele and Jorge have known each other for a very long time. Michele is a college professor who teaches astronomy and co-directs a planetarium outreach program. She has an MS in Physics and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Washington State University. Jorge has his BS in Animal Science from Colorado State University and is a general contractor. He is originally from Colombia, but he and Michele live in Spokane, Washington. Together, they have five kids, four grandchildren and a mutual desire to travel the world, learn other perspectives, and make new friends.

In June of 2018 we drove from Spokane, Washington to Miami, Florida where we put the truck into a shipping container headed to Cartagena, Colombia. We flew down to rendezvous with the Tundra and began our exploration of South America. So far, we have driven through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and parts of southern Argentina and southern Chile. We have recently explored the Patagonia region and are heading toward Ushuaia, the farthest driving point south in all of the Americas. We will begin our journey back toward the United States, but still have more than seven months to explore!
