Day 13 – 350 mi…Savoring our weekend adventure and anticipating a hot soak.

Back along the Dalton today retracing our steps to Fairbanks, the weather was mixed with some blue skies and showers as we made our way over Atigun Pass. The scenery was spectacular and we could not resist the sunshine we found at the Arctic Circle. One more stop for selfies (of Michele and Jorge and of the truck), and we were on our way to Fairbanks to pick up the gliders and wash the car – you can see just how much muck we accumulated along the way. That stuff (calcium chloride) needs to come off soon, or it will cause long term damage to the paint.

Our derelict encounter in Fairbanks the first time encouraged us to choose a little better hotel with much safer parking – the Hampton Inn didn’t let us down! Jorge and I headed in for a hot tub and a cold beer, while the truck enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

Post Script: We finally saw moose today!
