We received a Whats App message from the importing agent in Cartagena this week…she confirmed that the Tundra would be arriving at midnight on July 19! Hooray! Of course, July 20 is Independence Day in Colombia…and that means no work. Even at the port. Let’s hope that Monday is a productive day. In the meantime, we wait.
We spend a lot of time at the pool and the beach. We are staying at Jorge’s parents’ apartment just outside Cartagena. It is a bit isolated and not many people are here, although we did make friends with an iguana. We go to the old city to eat yummy food – grilled octopus has become one of our favorite dishes, and we continue to find delicious deserts.
Have you ever read Waiting by Kevin Henkes? It is a Caldicott Honor children’s story about five friends who wait for something wonderful to occur. One waits for rain, another for the Moon. While two wait for snow and wind, one friend simply likes to wait. They eat, they sleep, they take turns going here or there, but mostly they wait. Me? I am waiting for the truck. That will be wonderful.
This week’s theme – Good things always come to those who wait…
I do not wait well. You look great! Pool life agrees with you.
