1000 km off the coast of Ecuador…

Last winter, Krista, Scott, Jorge and I decided that our rendezvous in Ecuador would certainly mean a trip to the archipelago known as the Galápagos Islands. Jorge spent time researching blogs, reading about last minute deals and coordinating our options. We chose a package that included airfare to/from Quito, food and accommodations on a small boat and tour of four of the islands with our guide, Eduardo. While our particular boat would allow for 16 passengers and the crew of 10, we were joined by only one other traveler…that’s right – a whole boat to ourselves. Each day we spent hiking, snorkeling, photographing, and savoring moments of a lifetime.

The photos we are posting today capture only a tiny fragment of what we experienced. Edu’s knowledge, passion and reverence for the islands were incredible! Capitán Orlando and the crew made us feel like family. We will never forget this special experience!

  2. Wow. Pretty cool experience. Amazing critter photos. I love the starkness of the white coral beaches with the basaltic rocks making up the islands.
