We sat by the pond and had our morning coffee/tea. (Thank you to Kelsey and Will – last year’s Christmas presents were perfect…a complete JetBoil set-up, a travel French press and travel loose leaf tea cup.) Packing up was much easier than setting up for the first time! We headed out to Jasper National Park via the Icefield Highway because the straight route to Prince George was closed due to fires. Unfortunately, there were still fires on our path…driving through thick smoke along the Icefield Highway the views, even obscured by haze, were spectacular. You can see the smoke with fresh flames in one of the photos above.
Day 2 – 314 miles…saw our first bear on the side of the road.
